Tat ‘n Chats

Tat ‘n Chats can be simple or elaborate events - it’s up to you.              The important thing is that you have a  chance to visit with other tatters, and share experiences & tatting tips.

Email us at FringeTatters@gmail.com  if you are interested  in planning a Tat ‘n Chat.  We’ll help you get the word out to tatters in your area.

Past Tat ‘n Chats

Over the past year we’ve had some wonderful gatherings.

May 1, 2011 in London, Ontario

March 13, 2011 in Kitchener, Ontario.

November 21, 2010:  About a dozen tatters met at Anne’s home in Oakville.  It was great to see some new faces, share tatting tips, and ’oooh & aaah’ over tatting magazines.  Anne shared the pattern for her ”Treasured Christmas Ornament”.   The Show & Tell table was filled with lots of of other goodies … as was the dessert table.

June 12, 2010:  10 members of the Fringe gathered together at Rosemary’s lovely Toronto home to tat ‘n chat.  There was some great show & tell, and discussions about threads, books and magazines.

March 7, 2010:  Nine tatters, including 2 new faces, attended the get-together in London organized by Deana and Carlene.   A highlight was Rita teaching 3 needle tatters how to shuttle tat.  If you are having difficulty getting the knot to flip with the “under-over / over-under” shuttle method, Rita’s trick is to try the old European method which is described in Rebecca Jones’ “Complete Book of Tatting” as Method #1 – The Reverse Riego Method.

November 14, 2009:  About 10 people arrived at Norm’s in Mississauga with ‘works in progress’, questions and laughter to share.  Sylvia was thrilled that Carlene taught her daughter-in-law how to needle tat.  It was a wonderful day.
