September 2010 Tat Weekend

2010/11/01

Special Thanks to all the participants, teachers, and vendors for making our 5th Fringe “Fall Into Tatting” weekend a success.

The 2 days (September 24 & 25) were packed with classes, catching up with tatting friends & meeting new ones, shopping opportunities, raffles, the live auction – and since it was a “Special Occasion” we had limited edition commemorative shuttles for sale (sorry - they are all sold), door prizes, and even a cake – chocolate of course.

We’re collecting photos to post on the Tat Days page so check for updates.

We’ve already started planning for next year’s annual event on September 23 & 24, so mark your calendars and send your comments & suggestions to FringeTatters@gmail.com  Your input helps us to provide the kind of event you want.

Your Organizing Committee

International Tatting Day

2010/04/01

Yes – there is an International Tatting Day – and it’s today April 1.

The rules are so simple.

  1. Have a cup of tea.
  2. Eat chocolate.
  3. Wear a little tatting – and be sure to tell anyone who notices all about tatting.
  4. Tat only for yourself – and only what you want to tat.
  5. Remember the tatters who have gone before and their many contributions to the art.

But most of all - Enjoy your tatting, not just today, but every day.

(adapted from Knots! No. 33, January 2000)

Happy International Tatting Day !
